Mites

Mites are tiny arthropods related to spiders and ticks, generally measuring less than 1 millimeter. They live in diverse environments, including soil, water, plants, and as parasites on animals and humans. While many mites are harmless or beneficial—such as those aiding in decomposition—some can cause health issues like allergies, skin irritations, or diseases by burrowing into skin or feeding on blood. Despite their small size, mites are highly adaptable and abundant, playing significant roles in ecosystems. Proper hygiene and habitat management help prevent mite-related problems, especially for sensitive individuals or those in close contact with infested environments.
