Ticks
Ticks are small, blood-feeding arachnids related to spiders and mites. They attach to animals or humans by biting the skin, often unnoticed, to feed on blood. Ticks are important because they can transmit diseases like Lyme disease and Rocky Mountain spotted fever. They thrive in grassy, wooded areas and are more active during warmer months. To prevent tick bites, it's recommended to wear protective clothing, use insect repellent, and check your body thoroughly after outdoor activities. Remove attached ticks promptly with fine-tipped tweezers to reduce the risk of disease transmission.
