Amblypygi (order)

Amblypygi, commonly known as tailless whip scorpions, are a unique order of arachnids that include about 150 species. Unlike their more familiar relatives, such as spiders and scorpions, they lack a venomous sting and a long tail. Amblypygi have flat bodies, long, slender legs, and are mostly nocturnal. They inhabit tropical and subtropical regions, often found in leaf litter or under rocks. These creatures are known for their distinctive long, whip-like appendages, which they use for sensing their environment and hunting small insects. Despite their appearance, they are harmless to humans.
