Tailless whip scorpions
Tailless whip scorpions, also known as vinegaroons, are arachnids that resemble scorpions but lack a tail with a stinger. They have elongated bodies and extremely long, slender legs that help them move and sense their environment. They use their delicate front appendages to catch and handle prey like insects. These creatures are harmless to humans and can spray a vinegar-like chemical as a defense mechanism. Often found in tropical and subtropical regions, they prefer damp, dark habitats like caves and leaf litter, playing a role in controlling insect populations.
