Starvation

Starvation is a severe condition resulting from prolonged inadequate intake of nutrients, particularly energy (calories). It occurs when the body uses up its fat reserves and eventually muscle tissue to survive, leading to serious health complications and, if untreated, can be fatal. Factors contributing to starvation include poverty, war, natural disasters, and food scarcity. Symptoms may include extreme weight loss, fatigue, weakness, and impaired immune function. Addressing starvation requires not only immediate food assistance but also long-term solutions to improve food security and access to nutrition.
