Schengen Area

The Schengen Area is a group of European countries that have abolished passport checks at their mutual borders, allowing people to travel freely between them as if they were in one country. Established to promote easy movement for residents and tourists, the area includes most EU nations and some non-EU countries. While internal border controls are minimal, participants maintain external borders and have common visa policies. This arrangement enhances trade, tourism, and cultural exchange while facilitating cooperation on security and immigration matters among member states.
