Dublin Regulation

The Dublin Regulation is a European Union law that determines which EU member state is responsible for processing an asylum seeker's application. Its main goal is to prevent multiple countries from taking responsibility for the same person. Usually, the country where the individual first entered the EU is assigned to handle their claim. The regulation aims to streamline the asylum process, but it has faced criticism for placing a heavier burden on frontline countries like Greece and Italy, which often see the highest numbers of arrivals.
