Robusta

Robusta refers to a type of coffee bean derived from the Coffea canephora plant. It is known for its strong, earthy taste and higher caffeine content compared to Arabica beans, which are more commonly used for gourmet coffees. Robusta plants are hardier, can thrive in lower altitudes, and are resistant to pests and diseases. This makes them easier to grow and often cheaper to produce. As a result, Robusta is frequently used in instant coffee and espresso blends, offering a strong flavor and a thicker crema.
