Nehru-Gandhi Family
The Nehru-Gandhi family is a prominent political dynasty in India, known for its significant influence in the Indian National Congress and the country's politics since independence in 1947. It began with Jawaharlal Nehru, India's first Prime Minister, followed by his daughter Indira Gandhi, who became Prime Minister as well. Indira’s sons, Rajiv Gandhi and Sanjay Gandhi, were also politically active, with Rajiv serving as Prime Minister. The family is linked to Sonia Gandhi, the widow of Rajiv, and their children, Rahul and Priyanka, who continue to play roles in Indian politics.
