Iran Nuclear Deal

The Iran nuclear deal, formally known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), was an agreement reached in 2015 between Iran and six world powers (the U.S., U.K., France, Russia, China, and Germany). In exchange for lifting economic sanctions, Iran agreed to limit its nuclear activities to ensure it wouldn't develop nuclear weapons. The deal included monitoring by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to verify compliance. It aimed to promote regional stability but faced criticism and challenges, especially after the U.S. withdrew from the agreement in 2018, leading to heightened tensions.
