Digestive System
The digestive system is a complex network of organs that breaks down the food we eat into nutrients our body can use for energy, growth, and repair. It starts in the mouth, where food is chewed and mixed with saliva. The journey continues through the esophagus to the stomach, where acids and enzymes further break down the food. Next, it moves into the small intestine, where most nutrient absorption occurs. The remaining waste then travels to the large intestine, where water is reabsorbed, and finally, any leftover waste is excreted from the body through the rectum.
