Arianism

Arianism is a theological belief that emerged in the early Christian Church, founded by the priest Arius in the 4th century. It asserts that Jesus Christ, while divine, is distinct and subordinate to God the Father, meaning he was created by God and not co-eternal or of the same essence. This view challenged the traditional Christian understanding of the Trinity, leading to significant theological debates and the calling of the First Council of Nicaea in 325 AD, which deemed Arianism heretical and affirmed that Jesus is fully divine and of the same essence as the Father.
