Nicene Theology

Nicene Theology refers to the beliefs established by the First Council of Nicaea in 325 AD, which aimed to unify Christian doctrine. Central to this theology is the affirmation of the Trinity: that God exists as three distinct persons—Father, Son (Jesus Christ), and Holy Spirit—who are all fully divine and co-equal. The Nicene Creed, formulated during the council, addresses key beliefs, particularly the nature of Christ as both fully God and fully human. This foundational understanding helped shape orthodox Christian beliefs and addressed various theological disputes of the time, contributing to the development of early Christianity.
