Homoousios

"Homoousios" is a Greek term meaning "of the same substance" or "of the same essence." It was used in Christian theology, especially during the early church debates, to describe the relationship between God the Father and Jesus Christ. The term affirms that Jesus is fully divine and shares the same divine nature as God the Father, countering views that saw Jesus as separate or lesser. This concept helped define the core belief in the Trinity—that God exists as three persons in one divine essence—ensuring clarity about Jesus's divine status within Christianity.
