Christological Heresies
Christological heresies are incorrect beliefs about the nature of Jesus Christ that emerged in early Christianity. These ideas challenge fundamental truths about his divinity and humanity. Examples include Arianism, which denied Jesus' full divinity, and Nestorianism, which separated his divine and human natures too much. In contrast, the orthodox view, affirmed at councils like Nicaea, holds that Jesus is fully God and fully human, united in one person. Addressing these heresies was crucial for the early Church to clarify and uphold the true nature of Christ in Christian faith.
