Nestorianism

Nestorianism is an early Christian theological belief that emphasizes a distinction between Jesus Christ's divine and human natures. It suggests that Christ is a combination of two separate persons—one divine and one human—joined together, but not fully united as a single person. This view was deemed heretical by mainstream Christianity because it seemed to separate Jesus’ divine nature from his human experience, undermining the idea of Jesus as both fully divine and fully human. The term originates from Nestorius, a 5th-century bishop, and it influenced the development of the Syrian Christian tradition.
