Argentine War of Independence

The Argentine War of Independence (1810-1816) was a conflict in which the people of the United Provinces of the Rio de la Plata, led by revolutionary groups, sought to gain independence from Spanish colonial rule. Initially sparked by the desire for self-governance and influenced by other independence movements in Europe and the Americas, key battles and political assemblies unfolded. The struggle involved notable leaders like José de San Martín. Ultimately, the war resulted in the declaration of independence on July 9, 1816, marking the beginning of Argentina’s journey as a sovereign nation.
