
Manuel Belgrano
Manuel Belgrano was an Argentine lawyer, politician, and military leader who played a crucial role in Argentina’s fight for independence from Spanish rule in the early 19th century. Born in 1770, he was a key figure in the revolutionary movement and is best known for creating the Argentine flag in 1812. Belgrano was also a proponent of education and economic development. He served as a general in the revolutionary army, facing many challenges and battles. After his death in 1820, he became a national hero and symbol of Argentine patriotism, celebrated for his dedication to the country’s independence.
