The Battle of Tucumán, fought on September 24, 1812, was a key conflict during Argentina’s struggle for independence from Spain. Patriot forces led by General Manuel Belgrano faced a royalist army trying to suppress the revolution. Despite being outnumbered, the patriots held their ground near San Miguel de Tucumán, inflicting a decisive defeat on the royalists.
