Alan Baddeley

Alan Baddeley is a British psychologist known for his influential research on human memory. He proposed the multi-component model of working memory, which suggests that short-term memory isn't just one simple system but consists of different parts. These include the phonological loop (for sounds and speech), the visuospatial sketchpad (for images and spatial information), and the central executive (which directs attention and manages the other parts). His work helps us understand how we temporarily hold and manipulate information in daily tasks, learning, and problem-solving.
