Sultanate of Delhi

The Sultanate of Delhi was a Muslim kingdom that ruled large parts of northern India from the 13th to the 16th centuries. Established after the defeat of local Hindu rulers, it included several dynasties, such as the Slave, Khilji, and Tughlaq. This period was marked by significant cultural, architectural, and economic advancements, as well as the spread of Islam in the region. The capital, Delhi, became a center of power, trade, and learning. The Sultanate ultimately laid the groundwork for the later Mughal Empire, which would further shape Indian history.
