Iqta System
The Iqta system was a medieval land tenure practice used in regions like the Delhi Sultanate, where land was granted by the ruler to officials or nobles (called iqtadars) in exchange for military or administrative service. The land remained the state's property, but the iqtadar collected revenue from it to support their duties. In return, they managed the land and provided loyal service. This system helped the ruler maintain control, ensure revenue collection, and delegate governance responsibilities effectively across large areas.
