Sultan Osman II

Sultan Osman II, also known as Osman the Young, was the Ottoman Sultan from 1618 to 1622. He was one of the youngest rulers in Ottoman history, ascending the throne at just 14 years old. Osman II aimed to reform and strengthen the empire, focusing on modernizing the military and administration. His ambitious plans faced resistance from the powerful Janissaries, the elite military corps. In 1622, he was overthrown and executed, highlighting the challenges of governance in the empire.
