Rani Lakshmibai

Rani Lakshmibai was a prominent figure in the Indian Rebellion of 1857 against British colonial rule. Born in 1828 in Varanasi, she was the queen of the princely state of Jhansi. Known for her fierce bravery and leadership, she became a symbol of resistance against British exploitation. Following the death of her husband, the British attempted to annex Jhansi, leading her to actively fight for her kingdom's freedom. Rani Lakshmibai's legacy endures as a symbol of Indian nationalism and resistance, inspiring future generations in the struggle for independence. She died in battle in 1858, becoming a martyr for the cause.
