Palestinian Authority
The Palestinian Authority (PA) is a self-governing body responsible for administering parts of the West Bank and Gaza Strip. Established in the 1990s as a result of the Oslo Accords between Israel and the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO), the PA aims to provide governance and public services to Palestinians. Its leadership seeks to establish an independent Palestinian state and negotiations with Israel regarding borders, security, and other key issues, though political tensions and conflicts complicate its efforts. The PA's effectiveness has been challenged by internal divisions and ongoing conflict with Israel.
