Al-Quds Committee

The Al-Quds Committee is an organization established by the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in 1975 to protect and promote the interests of Jerusalem, particularly in relation to its Islamic heritage and the Palestinian cause. It focuses on coordinating efforts among member states to support Palestinians, safeguard holy sites, and raise awareness about the situation in Jerusalem. The committee also addresses issues of Israeli policies and actions that affect the city's status. Al-Quds, meaning "The Holy," refers to Jerusalem, which holds significant religious importance for Muslims, Christians, and Jews.
