Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO)
The Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) is a political and militant group founded in 1964, representing the Palestinian people. Its main goal is to establish an independent Palestinian state and advocate for Palestinian rights. Initially known for armed struggle against Israel, the PLO shifted towards diplomacy, especially after the 1993 Oslo Accords, which aimed to negotiate a peaceful resolution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. The PLO is recognized by many countries and international organizations as the representative of the Palestinian people and includes various factions, most notably Fatah, led by Mahmoud Abbas.
