Palestine Liberation Organization
The Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) is an umbrella organization founded in 1964 to represent the interests of Palestinian Arabs. It aims to establish an independent Palestinian state and advocates for Palestinian rights through political negotiations and, at times, resistance. Recognized internationally as the legitimate representative of Palestinians, the PLO has engaged in peace processes, notably signing the Oslo Accords in the 1990s. It operates as a political entity with various factions working toward Palestinian self-determination, balancing diplomacy and activism in a complex and ongoing conflict over land and national identity.
