2014 Gaza War

The 2014 Gaza War, also known as Operation Protective Edge, was a conflict between Israel and Hamas, the militant group governing Gaza. It began in July 2014 and lasted about seven weeks, triggered by the kidnapping and murder of three Israeli teenagers. Israel launched extensive military operations in Gaza in response to Hamas rocket fire into Israel. The war resulted in significant casualties, especially among Palestinians, as well as widespread destruction in Gaza. A ceasefire was eventually agreed upon, but the underlying issues between Israel and the Palestinians remain unresolved, contributing to ongoing tensions in the region.
