Neurons

Neurons are specialized cells in the nervous system that transmit information through electrical and chemical signals. They play a crucial role in processing and conveying messages between the brain and the rest of the body. Each neuron consists of three main parts: the cell body, dendrites (which receive signals), and the axon (which sends signals to other neurons or muscles). Neurons communicate at junctions called synapses, where chemical neurotransmitters bridge the gap. Together, they form complex networks that underpin everything from simple reflexes to complex thoughts and behaviors.
