Multi-Tasking
Multi-tasking refers to the ability to handle multiple tasks or responsibilities simultaneously. In everyday life, it might involve cooking dinner while talking on the phone, checking emails, or managing children’s activities. Our brains switch focus between tasks, which can lead to decreased efficiency and increased errors if we don’t manage it well. While some people seem to manage multi-tasking effectively, research often suggests that concentrating on one task at a time (known as single-tasking) can enhance productivity and improve overall quality of work. Balancing periods of focused work with brief transitions can lead to better outcomes.
