The Multitasking Paradox

The Multitasking Paradox describes the idea that while people often believe multitasking increases productivity, it actually usually reduces it. Switching attention between tasks divides focus, leading to mistakes and longer completion times, as the brain needs time to refocus each time. Although multitasking feels efficient, it often results in lower quality work and increased stress. In essence, multitasking can give a false sense of productivity, but for most tasks requiring focus, concentrating on one thing at a time leads to better results and efficiency.
