Task Switching
Task switching refers to the process of shifting focus from one activity or task to another. This can happen frequently in our daily lives as we juggle multiple responsibilities, like replying to emails while managing a project. When we switch tasks, it often takes time for our brains to realign and adapt to the new activity, which can reduce overall efficiency. Frequent task switching can lead to errors and increased cognitive fatigue, as our brains work harder to refocus. In essence, while multitasking seems efficient, it can hinder our productivity and the quality of our work.
