King Richard I
King Richard I, often known as Richard the Lionheart, was the King of England from 1189 to 1199. He is famous for his military leadership during the Third Crusade, where he fought to reclaim Jerusalem from Saladin. Despite his focus on the Crusade, he spent little time in England and was more celebrated for his bravery in battle than for his administrative skills. Richard's reign is remembered for his chivalric ideals and romanticized figure, though he faced financial difficulties and conflicts with his own nobility. He died from a wound in battle in France, leaving a significant legacy.
