Kharif and Rabi crops

Kharif and Rabi are two main agricultural seasons in India. Kharif crops are sown with the onset of the monsoon, typically between June and July, and are harvested in autumn, around September to November. Examples include rice, maize, and soybean. Rabi crops are sown after the monsoon, usually from October to December, and harvested in spring, between March and April. Common Rabi crops include wheat, barley, and mustard. The distinction helps farmers plan their planting and harvesting based on seasonal weather patterns, optimizing crop yield and resource use.
