Islamic legal schools

Islamic legal schools, known as "madhabs," are the different interpretations of Islamic law (Sharia) developed by scholars throughout history. The four main Sunni schools are Hanafi, Maliki, Shafi'i, and Hanbali, each with unique methodologies for interpreting the Quran and Hadith (prophetic traditions). The Shia tradition also has its own interpretations. These schools arise from diverse cultural, historical, and theological contexts, allowing Muslims to approach legal and ethical questions in ways that reflect their communities while remaining grounded in Islamic principles. This diversity promotes a rich tapestry of practice and belief within the broader Islamic framework.
