Al-Shafi'i

Al-Shafi'i was a renowned Islamic scholar born in 767 CE who played a key role in developing Islamic law (Sharia). He integrated the Quran, Hadith (sayings of the Prophet Muhammad), and legal reasoning to create a systematic approach to understanding religious duties and laws. Al-Shafi'i emphasized the importance of the Quran and Hadith as primary sources and established principles for interpreting them. His work laid the foundation for the Shafi'i school of thought within Sunni Islam, influencing legal and theological traditions across many Muslim communities.
