Heart Attack

A heart attack occurs when blood flow to a part of the heart is blocked, usually by a clot in a coronary artery. This blockage deprives the heart of oxygen, causing damage to the heart muscle. Common symptoms include chest pain, shortness of breath, sweating, and nausea. Risk factors include high blood pressure, high cholesterol, smoking, and a sedentary lifestyle. If not treated promptly, a heart attack can be life-threatening. Immediate medical attention is crucial, as treatments may include medications, procedures to clear the blockage, or surgery to restore blood flow to the heart.
