Angioplasty
Angioplasty is a medical procedure used to open narrowed or blocked arteries, usually around the heart. A doctor inserts a thin tube called a catheter through a blood vessel to the blockage site. At the tip, there's a small balloon that inflates to widen the artery, improving blood flow. Often, a tiny metal mesh called a stent is placed to keep the artery open. Angioplasty helps relieve chest pain, reduce heart attack risk, and improve heart function, offering a minimally invasive way to restore normal blood flow in affected arteries.
