Hearing Loss
Hearing loss refers to a reduced ability to hear sounds, which can affect one or both ears. It can result from various factors, including aging, exposure to loud noises, infections, or genetic conditions. There are different types of hearing loss: conductive (caused by issues in the outer or middle ear), sensorineural (due to damage in the inner ear or auditory nerve), and mixed (a combination of both). Symptoms may include difficulty understanding speech, especially in noisy environments, and a sensation of muffled sounds. Early diagnosis and intervention, such as hearing aids or therapy, can enhance communication and quality of life.
