Audiogram interpretation

An audiogram is a graph that shows hearing sensitivity across different frequencies, measured in hertz (Hz). The vertical axis represents sound intensity in decibels (dB), with lower values indicating quieter sounds. Frequencies range from low (bass) on the left to high (treble) on the right. Normal hearing typically falls between -10 dB to 25 dB. Values above 25 dB indicate varying degrees of hearing loss, classified as mild, moderate, severe, or profound. By analyzing the pattern, audiologists can determine the type and severity of hearing impairment, guiding appropriate treatment or intervention.
