Eustachian Tube Dysfunction

Eustachian Tube Dysfunction occurs when the Eustachian tubes, which connect the middle ear to the back of the throat, don't open properly. This can lead to pressure imbalances in the ear, causing discomfort, muffled hearing, or a feeling of fullness. It often happens due to allergies, colds, or sinus infections, which can cause swelling and blockage. When functioning well, these tubes help equalize ear pressure, drain fluids, and prevent infections. Treatment may include nasal decongestants, antihistamines, or in some cases, medical procedures to relieve symptoms and restore normal function.
