Generalitat de Catalunya

The Generalitat de Catalunya is the government authority for the Catalonia region in northeastern Spain. It consists of an elected parliament and a president who lead regional policies, education, health, and cultural affairs. Established in the Middle Ages, it has evolved into a modern institution with autonomy granted by the Spanish constitution, allowing Catalonia to manage certain local matters independently while remaining part of Spain.
