Fiqh al-Siyam
Fiqh al-Siyam refers to the Islamic jurisprudence concerning fasting, particularly during the month of Ramadan. It outlines the rules, obligations, and spiritual significance of fasting for Muslims. Fasting from dawn to sunset involves abstaining from food, drink, and certain behaviors. This practice is intended to foster self-discipline, gratitude, and empathy for the less fortunate. Fiqh al-Siyam details who is required to fast, exceptions for those with health issues, and the rituals associated with fasting, such as the pre-dawn meal (Suhoor) and the meal to break the fast (Iftar).
