Fatty liver disease
Fatty Liver Disease occurs when excess fat builds up in the liver, which can affect its function. It’s often linked to obesity, high sugar intake, and poor diet, but can also result from excessive alcohol consumption. There are two main types: non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), common in people without alcohol issues, and alcoholic fatty liver disease. Symptoms may include fatigue and discomfort in the abdomen, but often there are no noticeable signs. If untreated, it can lead to more serious liver conditions, including inflammation, scarring, or liver failure. Managing weight and improving diet can help.
