Artaxerxes II
Artaxerxes II was a king of the Achaemenid Empire, which ruled over Persia from 404 to 358 BCE. He was the son of Artaxerxes I and faced numerous challenges during his reign, including internal rebellions and conflicts with Greece, particularly the fallout from the Peloponnesian War. Despite these challenges, he managed to maintain the empire's stability and expand its territories. Artaxerxes II is also known for his interactions with notable figures like the Spartan general Agesilaus and for his efforts to strengthen royal authority while navigating complex political landscapes of his time.
