Thrasybulus
Thrasybulus was an ancient Athenian general and democratic leader around the 4th century BCE. He is best known for leading a successful resistance against the oppressive Spartan dictatorship that occupied Athens after the Peloponnesian War. Thrasybulus organized and motivated exiled Athenians to reclaim their city, eventually overthrowing the Spartan rulers and restoring democracy. His leadership helped re-establish Athens as a free, self-governing city-state.
