Artaxerxes III
Artaxerxes III was a king of the Persian Empire who reigned from 358 to 338 BCE. He was notable for consolidating power and restoring the empire following a period of decline. Artaxerxes III is known for his military campaigns, particularly against rebellious territories like Egypt. He successfully regained control of much of the empire, but his reign was also marked by tyranny and political intrigue. He implemented significant administrative reforms and promoted trade. His rule ended when he was assassinated, leading to a brief period of instability before his successors took over.
