Anubis

Anubis is an ancient Egyptian deity associated with mummification and the afterlife. Often depicted as a jackal or a man with a jackal's head, he was believed to protect the dead and guide souls to the afterlife. Anubis played a key role in funerary rituals, overseeing the weighing of the heart ceremony, where a deceased person's heart was weighed against the feather of truth. This determined their fate in the afterlife.
