Mummification

Mummification is an ancient process of preserving a person's body after death so it remains intact for eternity. The process involved removing internal organs, often drying the body with special salts called natron, and wrapping it in linen bandages. This preservation was based on beliefs that the soul needed the body in the afterlife. Different cultures, especially ancient Egyptians, perfected elaborate mummification techniques, which included rituals and specific procedures to ensure the deceased's immortality. Ultimately, mummification aimed to prevent decay, allowing the body to serve as a vessel for the soul's continued existence.
